SHOCK AS BRIAN OWEN RESIGNS

Manager Brian Owen tendered his resignation on Sunday, citing inability to motivate himself, the desire to see more of his family, and his age (64) as the reasons.
Brian was hugely disappointed that we failed to achieve promotion last season and troubled that this season had got off to a poor start, apart from the FA Cup run. The 30 game league programme has meant that there have been few league games, and the fact that we have dropped 7 points out of 9 has surprised most people.
Brian is a gentleman and leaves with the best wishes of all at the Park. There there is no doubt that he lifted the club in every way during his time here.
More details of the temporary arrangements will appear tomorrow.
