JOHN SMITH Another nominated by supporter David Nott (who again kindly supplied the photo). John once scored seven goals(equalling the HTFC record for an individual) in a FA Amateur Cup 10-0 win in Sept.1965, versus Shillington.The Hertfordshire Mercury match report said of John Smith, "He lorded over proceedings like a regent holding court,it was his game,his day" We would be pleased to hear from anyone who can add to the information about this particular Hertford Hero.

The game was Hertford's first fixture in the Athenian League, and John was starting his second spell at the club.
