CURTIS IS THE MAIN MAN AT PRESENTATION EVENING!

Skipper Curtis Johnson scooped two awards at the 2003-2004 Presentation Evening.
With a superb turn out by the coaching and playing staff, committee and supporters, this was one of the best evenings at the Club for many a year. Injured Joel Maybury, having spent the previous five days in Epsom General Hospital, kept his pledge to be there, to the delight of the large gathering.

The presentations kicked off with a special award to secretary Stephen Hedley to mark his 20 year association with the Club - the last 18 years as secretary - a Club record.

In his opening speech, Chairman Ray Hill paid tribute to the coaching and playing staff for giving us a memorable season. He said that, until after the FA meeting on Sunday 9th May, we had no idea where we would be playing next season, but he was sure that, whatever league we played in, the club would continue to build. His confirmation that Brian Owen had committed himself to another season at the Club was greeted with loud applause. Further applause followed when Ray went on to say that club sponsors Bayeux had renewed their sponsorship at an increased amount, and furthermore, had very generously donated £500 to the Joel Maybury appeal.

Daniel picked up a trophy for the second year running, as he followed up his 2002-3 Under 18's Manager's POY with a similar award, this time for the First Team. Daniel made the step up look ridiculously easy and, at still only 18, looks to have lots more awards to collect yet!

GOLDEN BOOT: KEVIN COOPER
Ray presented Kevin with the award, paying tribute not only to the 34 goals scored in the season just finished, but to his remarkable record of 85 in 119 appearances overall. To cries of "There's only one Kevin Cooper" Coops left the bar briefly to collect his well deserved award!

Curtis Johnson then presented Natalie Hill with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the players. The formal side of things finished with a special auction of a series of mounted photos of action shots from the season's games, taken by Kevin Coleman and specially printed and mounted by Bayeux. These unique pictures were auctioned to raise money for Joel, and the buyers were generous. A considerable sum was raised which, together with money donated by the players from their "fines" money, and the Bayeux contribution meant that at least Joel would not struggle financially during his recovery period.

The party then really got under way, with a disco and a very busy bar!
