LEAGUES COMMITTEE CONFIRM THAT TWO PROMOTION PLACES PLEDGE WILL BE HONOURED

The Ryman League has written to clubs confirming that the Joint Leagues Committee has confirmed that the original pledge that Ryman Division 2 would get two promotion places until 2005 would be honoured. The letter does not say how this will be fitted into the "8 from 13" mess though! Presumably, if the top two in Ryman 2 have both got the required grading and have applied for promotion (very likely), then both clubs would be eligible to be included in the play-offs. UPDATE 9 FEB - Nick Robinson, Secretary of the Ryman League, has confirmed to the Mercury newspaper that the FA are saying that the top Ryman 2 clubs at the end of the season will go into the promotion pool without having to play-off with anyone (and subject, of course, to ground grading). They would then be allocated to the appropriate Level 4 league
