Hertford Town 0 Aylesbury United 2

After the disaster at Royston on Tuesday night there were a few changes to the Hertford side. New faces in Glidden, Dobson & Peagrum added fresh hope that the Blues could bounce back.

For the first match this season there was a distinct lack of heavy rain which caused a cacophony of airhorns from the bamboozled fans. From the kick off Aylesbury took the game to Hertford and had a few decent opportunities to score until they took the lead in the 13th minute from Ben Baines. This shook the Blues into action and they came fighting back with a few good opportunities from Owen Beale & Atti Korsoveczki. Just before half time Hertford had a McFlurry of corners but alas, they could not make any count.

Unlike the Royston game there were no injuries at half time so the same Hertford squad tried and give Aylesbury what for.... and they did for a bit. With the deafening (annoying) vuvuzela blasting them on they descended on the Stable End. Arin Fehmi worked the left wing with the right wing being work by a mixture of Atti, Beale & Dobson. It was working quite well, there were a few shots at goal but then a lapse... Aylesbury hit on the counter and Robbo was picking the ball out of the new net. Richard Pringle - 63mins. Naturally there were groans from the Stable End but the fans got behind the team again and the Blues push forward again looking to claw their way back. Sensing the need to attack Scott O'Donoghue changed the team by bringing on Peagrum, Crowhurst & Cooper for Neill, McArdle & Ardiles. This brought sustained attacks but unfortunately the Ducks held out for the win.
