SATURDAY 27 MARCH 2007 - SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS PREMIER DIVISION
HERTFORD TOWN 1 CHALFONT ST PETER
On a cold, raw afternoon which kept a few away, Hertford "got out of jail" with a last minute equaliser, as they continued to struggle for home form. Visitors Chalfont St Peter, always a threat to Hertford at Hertingfordbury Park in recent seasons, had themselves snatched a late goal which looked like a match winner, only for Ryan Redford to pop up at the end with his 46th strike of the season.

Ryan Redford netted after only 7 minutes, but was adjudged offside. Chalfont's Terrell Lewis shot wide on 13 minutes, and it was 25minutes before the next notable Hertford attack, when Redford's pass to Lee Roberts was headed out for corner by Alan Hedley.
Terrell Lewis saw his shot deflected wide for corner before Phil Goss shot into keeper Power-Simpson's hands, on 30 minutes.
In the next minute, Glenn Draper's shot was charged down for a corner.
Bradley Bubb was booked for a 40th minute foul on Wade and then Lewis got away from Kilroy, shooting across the face of goal
As the whistle blew for half-time there was a bizarre incident, when Ryan Wade punched the ball away, and Chalfont's substitute Danny Edwards came off bench and pushed Wade over, for which he is shown a straight red card.
Half Time: Hertford Town 0 Chalfont St Peter 0
As the crowd shivered, there was not a lot of promise of a goal to warm them up - Kevin Cooper's 59th minute lob was gathered by 'keeper Power-Simpson, who then held a 64th minute Ryan Redford cross at full stretch.
Hertford introduced substitute Panayiotis Panayiotou for Phil Goss on 65 minutes, and then Kevin Cooper headed to Lee Roberts, Michael Power-Simpson flapped at the cross, but Ryan Redford was unable to finish off the move with a goal.
Hertford made a second substitution on 70 minutes, when Nicky Marsh came on for Tony Neilson. Then the unthinkable happened on 77 minutes as far as the home fans were concerned - the visitors took the lead. Mark Virgo punched the ball away and fell to ground. Barry Brosnan Brosnan headed back towards goal, and the ball cleared Virgo , helped on by Glenn Draper - with the goal accredited to Brosnan, with a strong hint of own goal about it.
With only minutes to go, Bradley Bubb fired over, but in the final moments, Lee Roberts was brought down by Steve Nott-Macaire who was booked. Roberts' free kick was headed on by Panayiotou and although parried by the 'keeper RYAN REDFORD was there to cash in with the equaliser.
Final Score: Hertford Town 1 Chalfont St Peter 1
