Enfield Town began as if they meant business, and Blues were on the back foot for most of the opening minutes. Former Blue Rudi Hall was Enfield's captain and was prominent in the early play, which saw the visitors win a close range free kick and a couple of corners. Hertford's well organised defence coped though, and the home side gradually got into the game. On 13 minutes, Ryan Redford saw his close range strike blocked by the visitors' 'keeper, then two minutes later, the Blues took the lead when another Redford shot rebounded to NICKY BURT, who tapped the ball home from close range.
Hertford were giving at least as good as they got now, and on 24 minutes, Lee Roberts beat his full back and crossed to Kevin Cooper. Although Coops missed the ball, it fell to Ryan Redford whose shot was deflected for a corner.
The home side were well on top as the half came to a close, Ryan Wade saw a good shot saved following more good work by Roberts and Redford, then Nicky Burt was unlucky as he curled a 22 yard shot onto the crossbar. Then another Burt shot flew just over the bar, and a Lee Roberts header hit the side netting.

Half Time: Hertford Town 1 Enfield Town 0

Early in the second half Kevin Cooper looked certain to score but his effort crashed against the left upright. Then, on 53 minutes, he was withdrawn and replaced by Bradley Stamp. Another substitution minutes later saw Ross Collins replace Pany.
Mark Virgo was called upon to make a point blank save on the hour as the Enfield Town left back stole in on a good pass into the box. Hertford made another substitution, bringing on Alex Scriven for Nicky Burt, on 66 minutes, before the visitors equalised with a good goal. A searching ball from the right was knocked back into the box where Dorian Blanchard saw his shot hit the crossbar, only to fall to STEVE GEORGIOU, who headed the ball home before Mark Virgo was able to react to the rebound.
Pablo Ardiles came on for Lee Roberts, with Louis Lancaster moving forward. Bradley Stamp won possession, ran on and saw his shot go the wrong side of the post, then Enfield's Matt Mitchell, looking uncannily like his older brother and former Blue Daryl, played an exquisite 45 yard diagonal pass to Dorian Blanchard, who should have done better than shoot just wide. Ross Collins has a late chance to get the winner when set up by Louis Lancaster, but his shot was deflected for a corner.

Final Score: Hertford Town 1 Enfield Town 1
