Hertford Town 3 London Lions 1
The Blues entertained SSML Div One new boys London Lions in their first
competitive game of the new season and came out comfortable winners, in
front of 47 spectators.
There were a number of new faces in the Hertford line-up, which was as
follows:
1. Robinson. 2. Cooper. 3. Neill. 4. Charles. 5. Maybury. 6. Mwetaminwa. 7.Perry.
8.Beale. 9. Crowhurst. 10. Musafiri. 11. Korsoveczki.

Lawrence (for Mason, 79), 14. Brooks (for Crowhurst, 79), 17. McArdle (for Beale, 63)
The game was a mere two minutes old when OWEN BEALE put the home side
ahead with a calm lob over the Lions' keeper. The Blues were two up on
8 minutes when TOM NEILL scored with a cross-cum-shot.
The visitors went 3-0 down on 39 minutes, when new boy DAN PERRY scored
direct from free kick.

With a tasty looking second round tie away to neighbours Hatfield Town
the reward for victory, the Blues were able to take it easy in the
second half, making their first substitution on 63mins, Matt McArdle on for goal scorer Owen Beale. Then a double substitution on 79 minutes, with Mason Mwetaminwa
and Alex Crowhurst making way for Lawrence and Brooks. London Lions
pulled a goal back through ALEX SESTO on 62 minutes, but Hertford held
firm to book a visit to Hatfield's new home at The Gosling Stadium in
Round 2.
